Tuition
The 2025 tuition covers the program courses, room, board, department field trips, and most supplies. Financial aid is available for California residents. Visit our Financial Aid page for more information.
CSSSA is funded by the State of California, thus the tuition is lower for CA State residents. The state subsidy also means that CSSSA’s tuition is much lower for CA residents than other four-week residential programs across the state. The following are the tuition costs for both in-state and out-of-state residents:
CA State Residents – $4,830
Out-of-State and International Students – $9,977
All tuition payments are subject to a 2.99% transaction fee. For CA State Residents, the tuition transaction fee is $145. For Out-of-State and International students, the tuition transaction fee is $299.
Once a student is invited to attend CSSSA, they will receive an invoice for the tuition balance by email. Payment details will be sent by email to all invited students and parents in their virtual pre-registration packet by May 15, 2025. Students must submit their tuition balance by June 2, 2025. All payments are to be made by credit card or ACH transfer.
Fees
Non-Refundable Fees
The application fee is $20 and goes to the administrative costs associated with processing your application. California residents who can attest to an economic hardship can apply for an application fee waiver.
A 2.99% transaction fee will apply to all payments, except the application fee. The transaction fee is charged by the third-party processor, not CSSSA, and is non-refundable even if the payment to which it relates is canceled, refunded, credited, or charged back.
Optional Fees & Other Costs:
During the program, a small amount of pocket money for laundry and incidentals is recommended.
Three optional Sunday field trips are offered at an additional cost. Registration for these optional field trips will be available closer to the start of the program.
CSSSA offers shuttle transportation to and from Burbank Airport at an additional cost. Reservations can be made in June prior to the start of the program.
California State University Extension credits and a college transcript are available to graduates of CSSSA. The cost per credit will be communicated to students after completion of the program and students have an option to make a request at that time.
